Course Request Verification forms  will be given to students on Tuesday, May 22 and Wednesday, May 23 through their  6th period classes. These forms list the courses for the student's  schedule for the 2012-13 school year.  Feeder elementary schools will receive  them on Tuesday and will individually decide when to give them out. 

Parents should review them and call the grade level counselor if they have a question or concern. Note that these requests are not guaranteed. Final schedules will be mailed in June.

An updated final exam schedule was released.  The corrected times are already in the calendar.  Students will be released early  at 1:05PM on May 25, 29 & 30.  On the last day of school, May 31, students will be released at 10:50AM.

Several students enrolled in the Thriving Minds program at Long Middle School will perform electric guitar and display artwork at the House of Blues as part of the House of Blues Foundation's Action for the Arts (HOBAFTA) Student Recital on Friday, May 18, 2012.

Don't miss out on this wonderful opportunity to send your child to the FREE Thriving Minds enrichment summer camp held July 2 through  July 27, 2012 from 8:30 to 4:00PM, Monday through Friday. The estimated program  operations cost is $1000 per child but is offered at no cost to 40 students from  Long Middle School. Your child does not currently have to be enrolled with  Thriving Minds in order to apply to the camp.

Camp activities include but  are not limited to: visual and performing arts, technology and college readiness  workshops, college visits and career exploration field trips. Snacks and  transportation are provided. Drop off and pick up will take place outside the  school.

Enrollment packets for the Thriving Minds summer enrichment camp  is now available for download on this website and in the school's cafeteria  between 3:45-6:00 PM Monday through Friday. Please ask for the Thriving Minds  Community Site Manager, Jennifer

Come join the J.L.Long choir for a fundraiser event at the new CiCis Pizza on Monday May 7th from 4 to 9pm at the new location on NW Hwy by the  Walmart. They will be donating twenty percent of the evenings sales to the  choir.  Just mention JL Long at the cashier and enjoy a great meal with a  purpose. Hope to see you there.
