Athletic Banquet
Not only is this year one of the best ever in Long sports,  it’s also the biggest.  We unexpectedly have a MASSIVE crowd coming for the May  15, 2013 athletic banquet – at least twice as many as our cafeteria will hold.   That means we’ve outgrown the Woodrow Wilson cafeteria, and are MOVING THE  BANQUET BACK TO LONG, with some tweaks.    

Here’s how we’ll do it:  Eat anytime between 6:00 to 6:45,  and then IMMEDIATELY head to the auditorium to enjoy a slideshow recapping the  year in Long sports as compiled by Reginald Albert.  The awards ceremony will  begin in the auditorium at 7:00.

Also, to speed the ceremony along, the athletic department  has asked that unless the kids want to sit with parents (which is fine), girls  should sit on the left side of the auditorium, boys on the right and parents in  the middle.

Thanks again for your (overwhelming!) support of Long  athletics.

Please join me in CONGRATULATING  our award-winning  cheerleading squad! This weekend they competed in the "Hit the Beach"  Championship in Galveston, Texas. They took home 1st place in the Middle  School/Junior High Division.
